HOSPITAL TRIP
What was supposed to be a good session at the trails turned quickly into a hospital trip. Colin had a mad slam and his shoulder looked weird so we went to have it checked. Two to three hours of waiting and the doctor (who by the way also was eager to put a needle in me because of some harmless scrape) said two of the bones in his shoulder kind of seperated from each other. You can see this in the last two pictures, the first one of what a shoulder is supposed to look like (i.e. his right shoulder), the next one what it does actually look like. Nothing a mitella and time can't heal though.

DALFSEN '10
It's gonna be a returning item on this site. Every year a couple of friends and I go to, or at least try to go to, a little wooden house owned by the family of one of my friends. We spent four days in the middle of the woods. It was a relief to just have a campfire and murdering neighbours for once, instead of the ever present internet and email. The photos I uploaded are rough and unedited scans, didn't leave any shots out either...So bear with me.

PINHOLE
So, what everybody does in primary school, I decided to do now. I made a pinhole camera out of wood. Hardest part is getting the box light-tight, especially the part where you load the photographic paper. The whole thing is still under development, and the results are still far from stunning. However, it's a fun process.

Four days of luring around twenty kilograms of equipment resulting in four mediocre photographs. Definitely fun to do, but still a lót to learn.

HASSELBLAD BMX
First go at shooting bmx on the hasselblad camera. Used black and white Kodak T-max 100 because I still had a few rolls of them lying around. Luckily it was bright and sunny enough outside. All are natural light, except for the indoor portrait. For those on a tiny screen, I realize the photo's are huge, but they just don't work smaller.

ROY VAN KEMPEN
Right after the bmx jam in Deventer I went to Amsterdam to stay the night. Next day I would spend all day with Roy van Kempen shooting photos. This guy is pretty dialed with everything he does and determined to get that one shot which makes it a relief to shoot with him. Anything could be done over and over again, except for the crazy no-hander off the huge red ledge. That was a one-chance-only shot. Right after he landed it a girl came out of the house next door to celebrate the adrenaline rush with Roy. Oh, and those heavily retouched b/w shots... I have a reasonably explanation for those. Just finished looking at multiple Ed van der Elsken Amsterdam photobooks last week. As I am writing this some more photos on film are being developed right next to me. Need to finish that and then let them properly dry, scanning and uploading usually go after that. Will be online maybe later today or tomorrow.

031BMX JAM
Put down a jam in Deventer this weekend with the 031bmx homies, supporters and sponsors. It was a super good night in which a lot of good riding went down, beer was sufficiently present, but most of all everybody was having a good time. More details on the event can be found in forementioned link. Besides having a good night I took some time to get a shot every now and then. Didn't feel like strolling around with lights all the time so prepare for some grainy black and white photos. Last photo has been shot by my good friend Rolf! Took some more photos on film but they still need to be developed. Might find time for that somewhere coming week. Just check back every now and then.

MF DELTA3200 & LOMOGRAPHY
Shot some Medium Format DELTA3200 film for the first time last month. Can't really say what I think of it because I messed up the developing part. Well, not even really the developing part, more so the waiting after developing so the negatives can properly dry part. Meaning I didn't. Got all kinds of weird dirty spots on them I can't get off for the life of me. Lessons learnt. Take your time. The other two are small polaroids I shot while helping out foamlab at their Lomography-event in FOAM Amsterdam. Basically having almost 1.000,- euros worth of polaroids getting shot away by (mostly) clueless visitors haha. Was a good night though.

REMEMBER RICARDO 2010
About two years ago we lost our friend Ricardo. Yesterday a skateboardjam, dedicated to Ricardo, was organised for the second time. It was a good day in which we had moments of remembering but also moments with lots of fun. There was a skateboarding demo by the Dutch Circa team, a best trick contest, a video premiere and a little exhibition with photos of last year and older photos of Ricardo. On top of that we collected over 300 euro for the Dutch Diabetes Funds. You can find photos from last years jam and even older photos from Ricardo in the archives.

ROADTRIP '09
Took a couple of days end of August to drive (be driven actually) to a couple of places in the Netherlands. Starting at 8 o' clock on a wednesday evening Vladdie, Colin, Rolf and me drove from Middelburg to Delft. Half way we wanted to go for a swim to cool down. We also needed to clean Colins clothes which were supersticky and dirty not even 30 minutes into the trip due to an exploding bottle of coke. Unforunately we didn't find any sweet spots. A couple of beers, the hanging of a 2.25 x 1.50 meter flag of Zeeland, a good night of sleep and a tasty breakfast later we went on to Oldenzaal, to visit the oldest skatepark of the country (damn close to the German border). All afternoon was spent on finding a campsite, finding the campsite owner, putting up the tents, finding a supermarkt and finding something to eat. It wasn't untill the start of the evening before we could finally ride the snakerun. Didn't really matter anyways, was way too hot in the afternoon.

The skatepark of Oldenzaal is very nicely located. The snakerun starts on the top of a hill and, of course, goes down. At the end of the snakerun there is a funny little skatepark and beyond that is a swimming lake. Everything in and around the park is superclean. So we went for a ride and some swimming and had a good bbq at the place afterwards. That was untill hell broke loose and we had to find shelter at the campsite. Next morning we decided to go to the same place again, had an afternoon bbq this time. Late afternoon we drove to Arnhem to meet up with locals Souf, Ed, Dirk and a 4th guy of which I don't remember the name right now. Had a tasty pizza with beer and a good street session after that. Arnhem definitely has the best streetwallride I've witnessed sofar. Stayed over at Ed's place (thanks a lot!) and drove off to Aarle-Rixtel next morning. Quick visit to Paul's Boutique Bmx Shop and on to the FATjam. Good atmosphere, music, nice trails and export-beer to top things off. Funny evening at the local bar OJA and the streets of Aarle-Rixtel (Girl: "Hello, I am Marieke", Rolf: "Oh well, that's damn pity"). Fast forward to next morning, sunday. Being a bit hungover, thus not in a riding-mood, we went for a swim at the so called E3-lake (dug out back in the days to provide sand for the E3 highway). I had to start studies next morning so took the train to Delft, while the others went back to Middelburg.

Because I was too busy with having fun, swimming, bbq'ing, riding, drinking beers and breaking my nose I didn't take much photo's unfortunately. I do have some negatives though, which might pop up on here later if I manage to find the time to scan them.
